“I’m not interested in Garcia Rematch; we see he’s cheating”

Haney rules out Ryan Garcia rematch after failed PED test

WBC junior welterweight champion Devin “The Dream” Haney (31-1, 15KO) didn’t want to make any excuses for losing to “King Ry” Ryan Garcia (25-1, 20KO) on April 20. However, he has no interest in a rematch following news of Garcia’s failed PED test.

King Ry shocked the boxing world by defeating The Dream, the big favorite. However, his world comes crashing down after a news hit about a failed PED test sample taken before the fight.

After their fight, both rivals were open to a rematch. However, Haney doesn’t seem to care about that anymore, given the news of Garcia’s failed test.

HE WILL NO LONGER PROVIDE A REMATCH

While speaking to ESPN, he admitted that he thought something was wrong, but he didn’t want to make an excuse.

“I felt like something was going on, but at the end of the day I didn’t want to make excuses or be that guy. So I put it in the hands of Allah and said, “You know what, he was the better man.”

When asked about doing a rematch, he replied:

“I’m not that interested in it. During the construction we saw many interesting things from him. We see his character, we see the man cheating. We see what kind of person he is. . . at this point it wouldn’t be a fight I would really enjoy.

Even though Haney says that now, the reality is he may have to do a rematch. Some boxing fans believe that regardless of whether Garcia uses a PED, it doesn’t change the fact that he never adapted to avoid the left hook.

Garcia has been adamant in denying the allegations, calling them fake news. Still, in boxing, you’re guilty until proven innocent, as the Californian will remain under heavy scrutiny until this situation is resolved.
