Jaipur: Ahead of the monsoon rains, Jaipur Municipal Corporation – Heritage is cleaning over 150 drains in the city, including two major drains – the Nagtalai and Brahmapuri drains. As of March 16, about 2 km of Nagtalai and Brahmapuri drains have been cleaned so far and about 3,500 tonnes of debris has been removed in the last one week. The Nagtalai drain starts from Nagtalai Colony and reaches Jal Mahal via Galta Gate, Eidgah, Bas Badanpura and Ramgarh turns while the Brahmapuri drain starts from Nahargarh foothills and reaches Jal Mahal via Gyarah Mori, Chaugan Stadium and Brahmpuri. Last year, during the rainy season, these drains flooded the roads. The garage branch is working with heavy machines to clean the drains. tnn
