Embraer Delivers 1800th E-Jet – Airline Reviews

Embraer

Embraer has reached another milestone in the world’s small narrowbody aircraft program with the delivery of the 1,800th E-Jet production aircraft.

The new E190-E2, owned by Azorra, was handed over to Royal Jordanian Airlines today at Embraer’s facility in São José dos Campos, Brazil.

Today’s delivery marks the third E2 for the airline, which also currently operates four first-generation E-Jets. RJ will receive a total of eight E2s under the existing deal.

E-Jets have enjoyed global success in the fleets of 90 airlines and leasing companies from more than 60 countries since the first aircraft entered service in 2004. The E190-E2 is part of a family of advanced generation E-Jets that offer the quietest, least polluting and most fuel efficient aircraft on the market with fewer than 150 seats. In twenty years of service, the E-Jets have carried two billion passengers on 26 million flights over 87 million miles with 90 airlines from 60 countries.

Samer Majali, Vice Chairman and CEO of Royal Jordanian Airlines said: “We are delighted to participate in the milestone celebrations for Embraer and the E-jet program, in recognition of the long-standing partnership between Royal Jordanian and Embraer, supported by our valued partners at Azorra. The E2 family of aircraft supports our strategic objectives and integrates seamlessly with our vision for regional connectivity and growth. This plays a crucial role in the modernization of our fleet, providing unparalleled efficiency, flexibility and passenger satisfaction. Together with Embraer and our valued partners at Azorra, we look forward to delivering an exceptional passenger experience while contributing to a more sustainable aviation industry.”

John Evans, CEO and Founder of Azorra, said: “It is a true honor that Azorra is part of this milestone and we thank Embraer and our friends at Royal Jordanian for their continued partnership. With our E2 order book and growing number of airline customers, we continue to see a bright future for these aircraft and the compelling efficiency, superior passenger experience and clear economic benefits they offer.”

Arjan Meijer, president and CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation attributed the longevity of the E-Jets program to Embraer’s focus on excellence and continuous improvement, saying, “It’s great to celebrate this milestone together with two key partners, RJ and Azorra.” Meijer continued: “We are always looking for ways to make our aircraft better: reducing operating costs, extending maintenance intervals and adding new technology. Later this year we will announce a number of performance improvements for the E2, which has also proven itself to be ready to fly at 100% SAF. The E2 continues to demonstrate its benefits in fuel economy, emissions, quietness, reliability and passenger comfort, and airlines are taking notice.”

Airlines.com is packed with information about air travel and answers questions that many of us may have thought about but didn’t know who to ask. Well, you do now!

Airlineratings.com was developed to provide everyone in the world with a one-stop shop for all things airline, created by a team of aviation editors who have done forensic research on almost every airline in the world.

Our rating system has a safety rating of one to seven stars, with seven being the highest score. Within each airline you will find the country of origin, airline code, booking URL and seat map information.

The rating system takes into account a number of different factors related to audits by aviation governing bodies, leading associations and the airline’s own safety records. Each airline has a summary of their safety ratings so you can see exactly how they rate.

More than 230 of the airlines on the site, which carry 99 percent of the world’s passengers, have a product rating.

Because low-cost, regional and full-service airlines are so different, we have developed a different rating system for each airline that can be found across each airline.

Airlineratings.com has information on more than 30 types of aircraft, from the latest Boeing 787 to the A380 and smaller aircraft.

Best of all, there are simple answers to many of the quirky questions, including:

“What are all those noises after takeoff and before landing?”
“Why do you have to raise the sun blinds when landing and taking off?”
“What is a wing and what is it for?
“Why is it so expensive to fly short distances?”
“How often is an aircraft maintained?
“How strong is a wing?”
“How do they test airplanes”
“How often should aircraft tires be replaced?”
