Art-um Paatum 2.0: creativity beyond canvas

CHENNAI: In the vibrant heart of Chennai, a fusion event is poised to redefine the boundaries of artistic expression and philanthropy. Curated by the On The Streets of Chennai (OTS) Foundation, Art-um Paatum 2.0 is a dynamic showcase of art, food and music, all in the service of driving positive change.

One of the curators, Sai Amrytha, explains to DT Next: “Art-um Paatum is an art exhibition for a good cause, where we support artists, small business owners and entrepreneurs who are looking for a platform to showcase their talents. set. . And whatever they do, some of it goes to charity,” she adds. In this second edition of the fundraising campaign, the curators focus on music education for talented children and a donation of instruments.

Sunithra Sankar, who returned for the second time as a stall owner, said, “Witnessing a positive response to my dream catchers and being able to contribute to the cause for the first time has encouraged me to set up the stall again. It was a very unique and interesting initiative where different art forms came together to exhibit and present their creations for a good cause. This combined with live music made the whole experience very joyful for everyone who was part of it.”

“I’m a poet, I write poetry live. It’s great to turn strangers’ stories into poems. I loved how they came forward with their stories and how eager they were to receive their poems. So I had to set up the stall again,” said Dhanusha, a poet who set up a stall for ‘poem for the road’.

Speaking about the musical aspect of the event: “We have introduced a new concept of theme evenings in the second edition. More than 20 artists from our banner will perform over these three days, under the themes of romantic duets, underrated songs and Ilaiyaraja songs, to name a few,” the curator added.

The Art-um Paatum 2.0 will take place at the Ph Cafe, Egmore, from May 3 to May 5, between 5:00 PM and 10:00 PM
