Gene J. Auman, 80, of Lewistown, passed away May 2, 2024, at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital due to complications following a fall. Gene was born January 3, 1944 in Lock Haven and was a son of the late Jacob D. and Jennie M. “Shaffer” Auman. Gene was a 1963 graduate of Penns Valley High School. He married Shirley M. Corman, who survives.

In addition to his wife, Gene is survived by a son, Craig Auman, (Kimbra) of Lewistown, and a grandson, Hunter Auman, also of Lewistown. He is the last of his family and was preceded in death by his siblings, Mary Dugan, Kenneth Auman, James Auman, Margaret Baker and Dean Auman.

Gene was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Lewistown and a former member of the Lewistown Moose Lodge # 143. He served our country in the United States Army. He worked as a welder at Standard Steel in Burnham and retired with more than 40 years of service. Gene enjoyed fishing, playing pool, bowling and watching WWE wrestling.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. at Zion Union Cemetery on Rte. 64 in Zion, led by the Rev. Theresa Heiser. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Gene’s memory may be given to Grace United Methodist Church, 101 Logan St., Lewistown, PA 17044.
