Packers and Spuds split softball doubleheader – InForum

FARGO — The Moorhead softball team rallied behind pitcher Kellsey Klundt in the second game of a cross-border doubleheader to earn a split with West Fargo on Friday at North Dakota State’s Tharaldson Park.

The Packers won the first game 14-8 before the Spuds rebounded for a 7-5 victory in the nightcap.

In the first game, West Fargo took a 9-1 lead with four runs in the fourth inning, but the Spuds couldn’t figure it out, scoring four in the bottom of the fourth to further cut the deficit in half.

But the Packers got one run back in the sixth, then nearly iced the game with four runs in the top of the seventh, pushing the lead to 14-5. The Spuds scored three runs in their final at bat, but could not sustain the rally.
