Bengaluru (Karnataka) (India), May 4 (ANI): Amid the probe into the alleged ‘obscene video’ case, Karnataka Home Minister Gangadharaiah Parameshwara on Saturday said a second lookout notice has been issued against both JD(S) ) MLA HD Revanna and his son, Prajwal Revanna.
“We have issued lookout notices against both HD Revanna and Prajwal Revanna. We had issued a lookout notice to HD Revanna as he may be planning to go abroad. “Revanna has also applied for bail in the Mysore kidnap case. One person has been arrested in this case,” he added.
The first lookout notice was issued against HD Revanna and his son Prajwal Revanna after they sought time to appear before the investigation team.
The Karnataka Home Minister had told the media on Thursday about the lookout notice against the father-son duo in the case.
Meanwhile, HD Revanna has been charged with kidnapping in connection with the ‘obscene video’ case. The action was taken based on a complaint filed by the son of a woman who was allegedly ‘kidnapped and sexually assaulted’.
In his complaint to KR Nagar police in Mysuru, the man said his mother had worked as a maid at HD Revanna’s house for six years before returning to her village, where she worked as a daily wage labourer.
The man later discovered a video showing sexual abuse of his mother by sitting MP and Hassan Lok Sabha candidate Prajwal Revanna. He said his mother went missing shortly after the video was revealed.
He then filed a kidnapping complaint against HD Revanna and Babanna on Thursday evening.
The Holenarsipura MLA and his associate were booked under sections 364A (kidnapping for ransom), 365 (kidnapping with intent to cause harm) and 34 (common intention) of the IPC. The FIR registered by KR Nagar police also names HD Revanna as suspect number one and another man, identified as Babanna, as suspect number two.
The FIR was registered hours before HD Revanna’s expected bail plea came up for hearing at the Special Representatives Court in Bengaluru on Friday. He skipped the summons to appear before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) for questioning on May 2.
HD Revanna and his son, Prajwal Revanna, the sitting MP and candidate from Hassan Lok Sabha constituency, are facing investigation by a Special Investigation Team (SIT), formed by the Government of Karnataka, over allegations of sexual harassment and sexual harassment following a complaint from a woman who worked in their household.
Revanna was charged on April 28 in a case of alleged sexual harassment based on a complaint filed with the Holenarasipura police. The case was registered under Sections 354A, 354D, 506 and 509 of the IPC on charges of sexual harassment, intimidation and insulting the dignity of a woman. According to the complaint, the victim alleged that Prajwal Revanna and his father, HD Revanna, sexually abused her.
On Thursday, the Ministry of External Affairs said that Prajwal Revanna had traveled to Germany on a diplomatic passport and that no political clearance had been sought or given by the MEA regarding his travel. At a media briefing, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said the ministry has not issued a visa letter to Prajwal to visit any other country.
Prime Minister Siddaramaiah had written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging the Union government to cancel Prajwal’s diplomatic passport and ensure his return by using diplomatic and police channels. (ANI)
