Cody Rhodes replaced by CM Punk in Major WWE Banner after Cody’s draft booking criticism for Triple H

As the 2024 Draft came to a close, WWE started towards a brand new session after the Backlash. Since the roster has been shaken up by multiple additions and deletions between both brands, the respective graphics also deserve a change, featuring the most affordable stars from each house. While processing this much-needed update, WWE removed former Raw bigwig Cody Rhodes from center space to free up the spot for the Seventh City Saint to shine.

With this strange but open-hearted move, fans could finally get rid of the cliché of the American Nightmare being a regular Monday Night Raw draw.

Despite not officially being part of the draft, The American Nightmare automatically switched to SmackDown the moment he claimed the WWE Undisputed Universal Champion at WrestleMania Night 2. And now, all the polarizing fan reactions and rampant criticism for a lackluster start surpassed, the The 38-year-old appears to be focusing on his first title defense tonight at Backslash. By the time WWE is done, the last vestige of Rhodes’ supremacy will have been removed from the red brand. When the new official Raw banner was unveiled, fans saw CM Punk as the star showed up in place of Rhodes.

Rhea Ripley and Seth Rollins are also featured in the poster.

In addition to Punk, the new banner also features Gunther, Becky Lynch, Damian Priest, Liv Morgan and Sami Zayn.

However, the sight of the new banner may not be comforting to Rhodes as he still has some uneasiness over his recent WWE Draft booking.

Cody Rhodes seems to be outraged by his latest brand assignment

While the former AEW star is a rational futurist who doesn’t like to whine about the past, Rhodes had some strong ties to Monday Night Raw and wasn’t even willing to let it go.

While discussing his upcoming schedule for the promotion during a media call, The American Nightmare suddenly addressed the Hunter about his Draft booking.

“You know, my Raw exit happened faster than I was maybe ready for it and maybe that’s for the best. The design is what it is, the rules are set. I’m a SmackDown guy, but the idea was that he hilariously opened the door to his room while I was answering the question. Rhodes commented.

It will be good to see Rhodes back with his favorite brand sometime in the future. For now, however, he is reserved for the blue brand, even if he loses the title in the future.
