Arun Reddy, the Congress leader arrested in the Amit Shah doctored video case, was sent to police custody for three days on Saturday. Reddy, who runs an X account called ‘Spirit of Congress’, was arrested by the IFSO unit of Delhi Police late on Friday.

In the viral video, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is seen saying, “If the BJP government is formed, we will remove the unconstitutional Muslim reservation. The SC, ST and OBC communities of Telangana deserve this opportunity and they will be granted the same by ending Muslim reservation.”

The case of doctored video has led to a political slugfest between the BJP and Congress, with Shah accusing the grand old party of “stooping to a new low”.

The Telangana CM connection

Delhi Police had summoned Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy over Shah’s fake video case.

The Congress leader was asked to appear before the Intelligence Fusion & Strategic Operations (IFSO) unit on May 1 on his phone, but he failed to do so as his lawyers denied the charges against the Prime Minister.

Reddy’s phone was reportedly used to post Shah’s tailor-made video, in which he can be heard promising to drop all reservations after coming to power for the third time.

Along with Reddy, five other Telangana Congress members have received notices from the Delhi Police.
