Aranmanai 4 review: Sundar C’s gripping storyline makes it a must-watch

Director Sundar C’s latest film Aranmanai 4 was released in theaters on May 3, 2024. Starring actors like Raashi Khanna, Yogi Babu and Tamannaah Bhatia, this film received positive reviews upon its release. Aranmanai 4 is described as a mix of horror and comedy. Avni Cinemax, Benz Media and Lyca Productions produced this film. Popular duo Hiphop Tamizha (Adhi and R Jeeva) and composer Kharesma Ravichandran have scored the music for this film. E Krishna Samy has done the cinematography of this film. The story of this film starts with a lawyer Saravanan (Sundar C) who gets the news of his sister Selvi’s (Tamannaah Bhatia) death. Selvi died by suicide after her husband’s death. Saravanan goes to her house to take care of her children. He then realizes that the reason behind his sister’s death could not have been suicide. How he unravels the truth behind it with the help of doctor Maaya (Raashi Khanna) and villagers forms the premise of the film.

Direction

Direction is the USP of Aranmanai 4. Sundar C has incorporated many interesting elements in this film compared to the earlier installments. He has shown the characters and how they are explored in an extremely compelling way. Besides, the horror scenes he has put together and other twists also leave the viewers hooked to the screens. These elements made the first half of Aranmanai 4 enjoyable. The filmmaker also made sure to break the monotony by including some humorous scenes in the second part of the story as well. The film’s climax in the last 30 minutes is one of the major highlights for viewers. Sundar C kept in mind not to include unnecessary comic sequences in the premise of the film and to include them only where necessary.

Act

The actors met all the requirements with their impressive performances in Aranmanai 4. Kovai Sarala, Yogi Babu and VTV Ganesh ensured that there was not a single dull moment in the film with their comedy. Sundar C, the director, also played the lead role in this film and received praise along with Tamannaah and Raashi.

Other factors

There wasn’t much room for the music and cinematography part in this film. However, the VFX part took up a larger portion of Aranmanai 4 and managed to impress the viewers.
