Bruce Willis is ‘doing well’ amid the battle against dementia

Bruce Willis is doing “well” amid his battle with dementia.

The 69-year-old actor was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia in 2023, but Rumer Willis, his eldest daughter, has revealed that he is in good spirits.

The 35-year-old actress told Fox News Digital: “He’s great. Yes, he’s fine. Thank you so much for asking.”

Rumer Willis also explained why her family wanted to be so transparent about his health issues.

She explained: “I think what has been so incredible for me through this experience is that my father is so loved, and that has been so evident in the transparency with which we have shared. And I think if there’s a way to share our experiences, experience brings hope – whatever comes up as a family – that can have an impact and provide any kind of hope and comfort to someone else who’s experiencing that, and then to me, that’s… everything.

Bruce Willis’ family announced news of his dementia diagnosis in early 2023.

They said in a statement at the time: ‘As a family we wanted to take this opportunity to thank you all for the outpouring of love and compassion for Bruce over the past ten months. Your generosity of spirit has been overwhelming, and so are we. I am extremely grateful for it. For your kindness, and because we know you love Bruce as much as we do, we wanted to give you an update.

“Since we announced Bruce’s aphasia diagnosis in the spring of 2022, Bruce’s condition has improved and we now have a more specific diagnosis: frontotemporal dementia (known as FTD). Unfortunately, communication problems are just one symptom of the illness Bruce faces. is painful, it is a relief to finally have a clear diagnosis.”
