Erongo police have seized drugs with a street value of N$718,860 in a series of raids in Swakopmund and Walvis Bay.

Three men have been arrested in connection with these attacks.

They are accused of drug trafficking and possession.

The most extensive operation took place on Thursday in Kuisebmond, Walvis Bay, where police, acting on a tip-off from a confidential source, executed a search warrant at a home on Twahangana Street.

Authorities seized 9,435 grams of ‘skunk’ cannabis and 2,645 grams of ‘majad’ cannabis, with a total street value estimated at N$498,200.
A Namibian man (55) was arrested during the raid.

Another operation took place on Tuesday at a house on Tutaleni in Uugwangastraat, also in Kuisebmond.

Following a tip-off from the police suggestion box, officers discovered 427 grams of ‘skunk’ cannabis, 36 grams of ‘majad’ cannabis and three halves of a mandrax tablet, worth approximately N$21,860.

A man (26) has been arrested.

In addition, a raid in Mondesa, Swakopmund, on Monday led to the arrest of a man (34), after police recovered 3,976 kilos of cannabis, worth N$198,800, from a residence on Daureb Street.

“We applaud the public for their cooperation in sharing reliable information that led to these successful operations,” Erongo police spokesperson Chief Inspector Ileni Shapumba said.

“If people continue to deal in drugs, we will not make time for them either. We will get them until they stop.”
