JUI-F will fly solo

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), led by Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman, has decided to launch an anti-government movement without the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), ARY News reported on Saturday citing sources.

Sources said the JUI-F leadership had expressed its displeasure over Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur’s recent statement on rigging the February 8 elections.

In a statement, Gandapur had said that PTI’s mandate was stolen and not that of Fazlur Rehman and said he was still ready to open any constituency for a recount of votes.

Gandapur’s statement that no one had stolen the mandate from Maulana Fazlur Rahman and that he had defeated him in the February 8 general elections irked the JUI-F chief.

According to sources, the JUI-F leadership has expressed its displeasure over that of Gandapur and decided to take separate action against the government.

They said the PTI’s non-serious approach would not benefit anyone and advised the Imran-led party to first create consensus within its ranks and then communicate with other parties.

Moreover, Maulana Fazl has also stopped his party leaders from contacting the PTI leadership.
