Campaign launched on X to find Baloch journalist Rashid Hussain

Human rights activists and Baloch leaders have launched a social media campaign to locate Rashid Hussain Brohi, a Baloch journalist and human rights lawyer who has been missing since 2018.

Exiled Pakistani journalist and human rights activist Taha Siddiqui took to Twitter to appeal to people to raise awareness about Hussain’s disappearance and put pressure on the Pakistani military for his release.

Siddiqui highlighted that Hussain was kidnapped from Dubai in 2018 and subsequently handed over to Pakistani authorities, but his whereabouts remain unknown.

He called on international human rights defenders to join the campaign and push for Hussein’s safe return.

Prof. Nida Kirmani of the Lahore University of Management Sciences also appealed for support in a video, stressing the importance of reuniting Hussain with his family.

Mahrang Baloch also went to X to express her support for the cause.

Imaan Zainab Hazir Mazari showed the world the atrocities Rashid Hussain’s mother has to endure to find her missing son.

Amnesty International previously raised concerns about Hussain’s case, stating that he was being held without a warrant by Emirati authorities and was at risk of deportation to Pakistan, where his life could be in danger due to his activism in the Baloch National Movement.
