A-10 Outdoor Championships this weekend

The 2024 Atlantic 10 Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be held this weekend, May 4-5, at George Mason Stadium on the campus of George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.

Saturday’s action begins at 9:30 a.m. (CT). Sunday’s events begin at 8:00 AM (CT), with the final event of the meet (4×400 meter relay) starting at approximately 1:40 PM (CT).

Several Billikens are in position to compete for a spot on the podium in their respective events. Being among them Samantha Kunza, who enters the championship as second in the A-10 in the hammer throw. She will take part in the event on Saturday at approximately 11:30 am (CT).

Two Billikens top the A-10 performance list in the 400 meters Mikayla McDowell is first and Emily Nichols is in second place. The 400-meter preliminaries are Saturday afternoon and the finals are scheduled for Sunday at approximately 11:10 a.m. (CT).

Travel Amundson should compete for a podium finish in the long jump (2:30 p.m. CT on Saturday) and triple jump (9:30 a.m. CT on Sunday).

On the men’s side, Evan Bruenderman And Jayden Kouadio third and fourth place respectively in the triple jump. They will compete in the event on Sunday at 12:00 noon (CT).

Will Stewart is among the leaders in the A-10 in the 100 meters and will begin its quest for a championship in the trials on Saturday at 3:30 PM (CT).

Aaron Tobenwho won a conference championship at Missouri S&T, enters the A-10 fifth-place meet in the 400-meter hurdles (4:30 p.m. CT on Saturday trials; final Sunday at 12:05 p.m.).

Firaol Ahmed is fourth on the A-10 performance list in the 10,000 meters and runs on Saturday evening. Harrison Martinenkothe conference champion in the indoor mile, is second in the 1,500 meters and seventh in the 800 meters.
