A brand new ‘Star Wars’ show lands on Disney Plus today

Happy Star Wars Day! It’s May 4th and that’s always a big day Star Wars fans, and this year we’re getting a brand new Disney Plus series set in a galaxy far, far away.

Star Wars: Tales of the Empire is a new animated TV show that focuses on the dark side of the Force. The story focuses on two characters: first, on a young Morgan Elsbeth (a witch we last saw in Ahsoka) as she finds her destiny.

The second half of the series follows former Jedi, Barriss Offee, as she is recruited by the Empire. Here’s the trailer:

This is only a six part series and the episodes are very short, ranging from 13 to 17 minutes with end credits. You can easily disable this within a day.

In the meantime, if you’re on Hulu, the first season is out Star Wars: Visions is now available to stream. It’s a truly unique series of short films, all made by anime studios. Very cool stuff.
