TTwo iconic brands, Topo Chico and Converse, have joined forces for their first-ever collaboration. The collaboration includes refreshing takes on three iconic sneaker silhouettes and apparel featuring designs from renowned Mexican street artists Victor “MARKA27” Quinonez.

Released on May 2, the collaboration features three unique takes on Converse’s classic sneakers, the Chuck Taylor All Star and Fastbreak Pro, paired with the MARKA27’s signature “Neo-Indigenous” style.

Converse’s Sneaker and Apparel Collaboration “nods to Topo Chico’s Mexican heritage, alongside colorful images of the brand’s iconic glass bottle.”

Featuring a suede and leather upper, the ’80s basketball classic remains somewhat subtle while also calling to mind Topo Chico’s signature “bottle green” in the tongue patch and colored outsole. Quinonez pours his Mexican ‘Neo Native” style with gold line graphics along the ankle collar for a pop of color.

The low-tops have bodega vibes with Spanish word pictures like Qué Sabrosa! (English translation to ‘How Lekker!’) through the canvas upper. The midsole features Topo Chico’s iconic yellow bottle cap over the classic Chuck stripe.

Tattoo-inspired prints and colorful graphics, including embroidered red rose petals, adorn the canvas upper, while the condensation-dripping Chuck patch and translucent green outsole are reminiscent of the signature Topo Chico bottle fans know and love.

Ahead of the official launch of the collection, Converse held a preview event at the brand’s retail location in Soho, New York City. Quinoez was present, while sneaker enthusiasts and tastemakers enjoyed free Topo Chico, cocktails, mocktails and Mexican cuisine.
