Faf du Plessis on Saturday improved Chris Gayle’s record for most runs scored in the powerplay by a Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batsman in their Indian Premier League match against Gujarat Titans (GT) at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Earlier, GT recorded their worst ever powerplay score and the lowest this season before RCB bowled him out for 147.

RCB bowlers opted to bowl and took wickets at regular intervals before M Shahrukh Khan (37) and David Miller (30) shared 61 runs for the fourth wicket to stabilize GT’s innings.
