Early results show voters support the $150 million GCISD bond package

The county has released early vote totals for the three proposals up for election on the Grapevine-Colleyville ISD bond package.

What you need to know

The $150 million bond package was put together to address the district’s aging facilities, update technology and replace swimming center equipment, district officials said.

  • Proposal A allocates $134.2 million for safety, bus and school updates. There were 5,790 early votes in favor of the proposal and 3,455 against.
  • Proposal B allocates $10.2 million for instructional technology. There were 5,948 early votes in favor of the proposal and 3,386 against.
  • Proposal C allocates $5.5 million for swimming center improvements. There were 5,600 early votes in favor of the proposal and 3,628 against.

What else?

In early voting, 49,972 ballots were cast at locations across the county, representing 3.91% of Tarrant County’s 1.28 million registered voters.

The totals of votes cast on May 4 have yet to be released. The polls closed at 7 p.m., although voters who were in line at 7 p.m. could still cast their ballots.
