O’Shea admits Burnley are bad because of the defeat to Newcastle

Burnley defender Dara O’Shea admits they were poor after the home defeat to Newcastle.

The Clarets were defeated 4-1 that day.

O’Shea said afterwards: “It was a bad day for us, not what we wanted today. I thought we started the game really well, caused some problems and it was probably too easy to concede those goals. And that was the match.” done then, which was a shame, you know, because of how well we started and how promising it was.

“Yes for sure (three goals in the first half), look, you are punished when you make mistakes in the Premier League and if you are not there in that split second you are punished and that is a shame. I think that’s happened a lot this season, where we’ve made mistakes and gotten on the wrong side and probably on the other side not punished teams and waited for their mistakes.

“So it is a difficult task to do again today.

“It’s difficult, the momentum is going their way. They play nice football and catch us on the counter. I guess then we have to come together and regroup. Try to gain as much experience as possible within the team and guide us through it.”
