Aaron Judge pitches for first time, Rizzo hits 3-run homer as Yankees beat Tigers 5-3

NEW YORK – Aaron Judge was ejected in the seventh inning for the first time in his career, Anthony Rizzo hit a three-run homer to cap a four-run third and the New York Yankees defeated the Detroit Tigers Saturday with a score of 5-3.

Judge had two hits, including an RBI double to start New York’s rally in the third, before being ejected by plate umpire Ryan Blakney for arguing a called third strike. The judge thought a full-count fastball from Tyler Holton was slightly outside and it was quickly thrown out after looking back at Blakney.
