Airbnb hopes you’ll survive the X-Perience of staying at Xavier Mansion from X-Men ’97

New themed stays are coming to Airbnb with Icons, a new category of accommodations with unique experiences inspired by great icons from music, film, television, art, sports and more.

There will be 11 experiences for 2024; the list includes Disney-inspired stays that will take you to Westchester, New York for a stay at the X-Men ’97 X-Mansion, and New Mexico to soar among the clouds at Pixar’s Up House. “Icons transport you to worlds that previously only existed in your imagination,” said Brian Chesky, co-founder and CEO of Airbnb, in a press release. “As life becomes increasingly digital, we’re focused on bringing more magic into the real world. With Icons we have created the most special experiences on earth.”

Icons will appear in their own category on Airbnb’s website. Most Icons are free or priced under $100 per guest, but you can’t just book them like you can with a regular Airbnb. A countdown will be displayed until each Icon goes live, and guests can request a reservation through the app. The lucky guests who are chosen will receive a digital golden ticket, and more than 4,000 tickets will be available in 2024. X-Mansion from X-Men ’97

Pixar’s Up House

“Sleep in one of Disney and Pixar’s most iconic homes – and yes, it floats. You will discover Carl’s world in this detailed reconstruction of his home, complete with more than 8,000 balloons, nestled in the scenic red rocks of Abiquiu, New Mexico.”

Okay, staying in a floating house seems like a cute experience in a beautiful location. As long as we don’t drift away!

Pixar’s Up House

This one is very intriguing, probably more suitable for kids because an adult staying in the mind of a teenage girl sounds like an existential crisis waiting to happen.
