Truck Fire on I-95 Connecticut; both lanes at Norwalk remain closed

CONNECTICUTEmergency services are working to clear the mess from a truck fire that occurred early Thursday morning.

As of 12:10 p.m., Connecticut State Police are urging motorists to avoid non-essential travel in the Norwalk area. Commercial vehicles are still not allowed to travel on CT Parkways.

The northbound and southbound lanes at Exit 15 on I-95 remain closed due to the collision that occurred near the Fairfield Ave overpass in Norwalk.

Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont said the crash happened around 5:30 a.m. Thursday morning.

The accident involved a semi-trailer truck, a fuel truck and a passenger car, forcing the closure of both sides of the highway.

No serious injuries were reported, officials said.

Cleanup crews remain on site.

Those from Port Chester, New York, to Bridgeport, Connecticut are being warned to “stay away” from the area.

Emergency services were busy extinguishing the burning kerosene truck in the early morning hours.
