Game example: The Royals enter the week with a lead in the CCAA-Sunset League standings, while the Panthers have an outside chance of claiming a title if they can win both games this week. The Royals have been explosive on offense this year averaging 6.7 runs per game for a total of 160 on the season with 8.3 hits per game and have crushed 24 home runs this season, averaging almost 1 per game as a team , including 5 players who hit 3. or more home runs. For the Panthers, they have been steady all spring, scoring 136 for an average of 5.7 runs per game, but their pitching staff has been especially dominant, allowing 69 runs in 24 games, which averages less than 3 runs allowed per game this year means. Mission College’s preparation was solid, realizing 117 runs in their 24-match schedule, allowing just over 4 runs per match. The battle will likely come down to how well the Panthers armory, which has thrown the ball well all spring, can hold the Royals’ explosive bats and whoever can come out of this game on top has a good chance to see themselves as the CCAA-Sunset League champions.
