Ronald E. Seifley

Ronald Edward Seifley, beloved husband of Alice Lorraine Seifley, left this world and entered the kingdom of heaven on Sunday, May 5, 2024, surrounded by his wife and children. He was 82.

He was born on June 15, 1941 to Robert Francis and Devena Joan (Proto) Seifley in Mansfield, Ohio. Ron was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2005 and died from complications following a fall.

Ron was a graduate of Mansfield Senior High School and received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from The Ohio State University in June 1969. From 1969 to 1972, he worked as a traffic manager for RG Barry Corp. in Columbus, and as traffic manager for AMF Bowling Products in Shelby from 1972-1984. He was shipping and distribution manager at AK Steel until 2000. After retiring from AK Steel he worked as an office manager for Mansfield Brick and Supply.

He was a member of the Ontario United Methodist Church, where he studied and completed Disciple I Class. Ron enjoyed the friendships he made there, and he also enjoyed serving as an usher and administrator at Franklin United Methodist Church.

Ron was a kind, humble, reliable, hardworking man who always put his family and responsibilities first. He had a great sense of humor and was a published poet who enjoyed gardening, fishing and spending time outdoors. His happiest moments were when he was surrounded by family and friends.

Ron was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who cherished his family. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 44 years Alice, daughter Allison (Randy) Searson, son Robert (Beth) Seifley, five grandchildren Alex, Kyle and Cole Searson, and Sophia and Lauren Seifley, brother Joe (Diana) Seifley, as well as numerous brothers and sisters-in-law and beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife Kathy (Garriott) Seifley, brother-in-law Jerald Pfister, and his nephews Jesse Riddle and Daniel Pfister.

The Seifley family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday, May 10, 2024, at the Ontario United Methodist Church, where a funeral to celebrate his life will begin at noon. Pastor Christine Bell will speak. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Design Outreach, 224 W. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna, Ohio 43230. Design Outreach installs Life Pumps so that communities have safely accessible water.
