Texans WR Stefon Diggs sounds on X about Houston Traffic

Wide receiver Stefon Diggs, newly acquired by the Houston Texans, is known for his speed on the football field. However, during his recent move to Houston, the speedster discovered how slow Houston traffic can be.

Diggs recently missed his exit and was turned around, a split-second error that he said added nearly 20 minutes to his travel time.

“Houston, why don’t vultures tell me you missed one turn, you sure added 17 minutes to the destination,” Diggs wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Sunday.

The post received more than 500 comments from people telling the former Buffalo Bills star how to navigate the city. One user told him not to “bother going out on Friday night” because he wouldn’t be there until Saturday morning. While some offered advice, others argued that firsthand experience would be the best teacher in learning Houston’s highways.

“Drive like the most normal commuter possible, plan far ahead for your next exit,” wrote another follower on Stay (blessed) brother.”

Diggs isn’t the only person expressing concerns about Houston traffic. Last month, a post went viral on Facebook after a woman listed 11 tips for “How to Drive in Houston.” Andrea Maxwell’s post received more than 3,000 comments and nearly 8,000 shares on Monday.

“The morning rush hour is from 5 a.m. to 12 p.m.,” Maxwell wrote on Facebook. “The evening rush hour is from 12 noon to 7 p.m., the Friday rush hour starts on Thursday morning.”

Maxwell admitted she wasn’t from Houston, but became so upset by the drivers at Space City that she had to share her experiences with others.

“Road construction is permanent and continuous,” she wrote. “Diversion barrels are moved in the middle of the night for your entertainment pleasure to make the next day’s driving a little more exciting. In general, city roads other than main streets have more potholes and bumps (usually speed bumps) than most rural dirt roads. ”
