Why Ryan Gosling avoids dark roles for the sake of his family

Ryan Gosling is not just now Ken.

In fact the Barbie star has made a range of appearances throughout his career. However, he recently explained what kind of role he is stepping back from these days and what his old love is like Eva Mendes and their daughters Esmeralda9, and Amada8, play a factor.

“I don’t really play roles that put me in any kind of dark situation,” Ryan said WJ. Magazine in an interview published on May 2. “Right now I feel like reading the room at home and thinking about what is best for all of us. The decisions I make, I make with Eva and we make them with our family in mind first.”

Just to be clear, Rayan has previously starred in dramas, including Fracture, The place behind the Pines (where he played together with Eva) and Half Nelson, which earned him his first Oscar nomination. Yet the 43-year-old has also found success in the musical and comedy genres, winning over audiences in rom-coms like Crazy, stupid, love and two more Academy Award nods for his performances in Barbie And La La Land.
