J. Lo arrives at the Met Gala in a silver see-through dress that she said made her ‘barely’ able to walk

Tonight (May 6) is the day Jennifer Lopez‘s 14th time on the Met Gala. The singer and actress arrived at the glamorous event in a sheer, sparkling dress from Schiaparelli that accentuates her waist. The stunning dress was paired with silver high heels and a matching necklace, while her hair was styled in a stylish updo.

The custom Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown, which features 2,500,000 bugles and silver foil beads, took 800 hours of hand embroidery, the design house said.

“I think I’m going to retire tonight,” J.Lo joked during her interview with Fashion about how she became a fan favorite at the annual fundraising gala.

J.Lo made her Met Gala debut in 1999 and she has never gone unnoticed since. At the time, she honored the Rock style theme with her then-boyfriend, Puff Daddy. Her choice for the evening was a cut-out dress that exposed her shoulders, cleavage and waist.

In 2012 she enchanted everyone in a beautiful red Gucci dress under this theme Alexander McQueen: Cruel beauty. The singer and actress had her hair elegantly done up and wore red lips and subtle smokey eyes. The element that stole the show was of course the shoulders of the dress, loaded with gigantic floral applications.

For the theme of the 2019 gala, Kamp: Comments on fashion, Jennifer opted for a backless Versace dress covered in sparkling fringe, a plunging neckline and a thigh-high slit.

She paired the look, one of the last dresses made by Versace’s longtime tailor Luigi Massi, with an icy wig covered in fringe and silver heels.

As the 54-year-old star revealed, her wardrobe choice for this year’s event was not made long in advance.

“I’m also one of those people who chooses at the last minute,” she explained on Vstory‘S Instagram bill in April. “Like, I like choices, and then I say, ‘Okay, this is how I feel today.’ And then we try to create some kind of great look, because that’s the night for looks!”
