Ex-secular singer Grace Nakimera organizes a first crusade

On May 3, hundreds of people gathered in Kinawataka-Mbuya, a suburb of the city, for secular gospel singer Grace Nakimera’s first crusade. Eri Yesu tutted (let’s return to Jesus).

The event featured prayers, testimonies and performances by gospel musicians.

Nakimera, previously known for songs like Kawonawo, Nvawo Nawe And Anfukula, quit secular music almost a decade ago and began serving Jesus.

During the crusade, she told guests that before she confessed Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior, her life was marked by drink and witchcraft, saying several times that she would not perform.

“Before I was rescued, I experienced several attacks. I drank a lot to forget the worst experiences I went through, but it didn’t help in any way,” she says.

Nakimera said she brings souls to Jesus by preaching the gospel during crusades.

She also runs a charity organization: Save the Streets. The organization’s activities include cooking food for the street children, paying school fees and comforting those who have lost hope in life.
