Exciting claims – Newcastle eyeing £60m Crystal Palace star who slaughtered Man U last night

According to The Mail, Newcastle have reignited interest in Michael Olise ahead of the summer transfer window.

The silky wide man did us a huge favor last night by scoring twice in Crystal Palace’s 4-0 win over Man Utd, and it’s said we’ve been following the 22-year-old since his days at Reading.

The club are looking for a new right winger this summer and he would be an exciting signing. He has scored nine goals and four assists in just 17 games this season and has a release clause of around £60 million in his Palace contract.

Man Utd, Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool are all believed to be big admirers of the France U21 international, but The Mail reports that our push for Europe and our ambitious project could convince him to sign for St James’ Park.

Interestingly, we’re also hoping that our pursuit of Palace’s Dougie Freedman – the man who brought Olise to Selhurst Park – could help sign the winger if the Scot were to become our new sporting director.

It will be difficult to sign Olise given the level of competition we are likely to face this summer, but he would be a top class signing and an ideal addition to the right side of our attack. A front three of Gordon, Isak and Olise would be something else!
