Porsche Taycan GT is the new safety car of Formula E.

The Porsche Taycan Turbo GT will be Formula E’s new safety car in the double header in Berlin, which will take place next weekend, May 11 and 12. The most powerful production Porsche of all time will take on the role of safety car in the all-electric single-seater world championship.

The new Taycan was presented in March as the most powerful production Porsche of all time, with record lap times at the Nürburgring and Laguna Seca.

Equipped with the optional Weissach package, the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT achieves an impressive acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.2 seconds and a remarkable top speed of 305 km/h.

This is thanks to the power of 788 hp from the two electric motors, which in ‘overboost’ mode reach 1033 hp or even 1108 hp for two seconds, and a torque that rises to no less than 1340 Nm.

Experienced Portuguese driver Bruno Correia is given the mission to take the wheel of the new Formula E safety car.
