Live music returns to Hull Libraries

Live music returns to Hull Central Library, with a visit from singer-songwriter Willie J Healey, as part of Get It Loud in Libraries, in association with Hull Libraries.

Now on his third album, indie, funk and soul singer Willie J Healey will play a special matinee session at the Library as part of his 2024 UK tour.

Following a collaboration with Jamie T and performances supporting Florence + the Machine and Arctic Monkeys, Willie J Healy will bring 12 music from his new album ‘Bunny’ to the library on Sunday.e May at 2:30 p.m.

Touted as a ‘one to watch’ in the Guardian, the Oxfordshire-born singer has received four-star reviews for his 2023 album from Far Out Magazine and DIY Magazine, and has been named Album of the Year for 2023 by the BBC. Radio 6 .

Hull Libraries has been working with Get It Loud in Libraries for six years and hosts a mix of live music acts from different genres. Bands like Sunflower Bean, The Anchoress and Panic Shack have rocked the decks with their live sets.

Get It Loud in Libraries offers audiences of all ages the rare opportunity to get up close and personal with their favorite artists, having previously hosted critically acclaimed music acts such as Adele, Self Esteem and Wolf Alice.

These events offer music lovers a truly unique opportunity to enjoy live music in an unusual setting. Moreover, this performance is truly accessible for the whole family, with free admission for young people under the age of 9.”
