Rieter’s K 47 linked to Autoconer X6: Intelligent Process Automation

Indian yarn manufacturer Sri Bhagirath started production with 17 brand new Rieter compact spinners K 47 that are directly linked to Rieter Autoconer X6 winding machines. This allows the company to meet increasing customer demand for high-quality compact yarns and benefit from a high degree of automation.

Compact yarns are characterized by a high degree of tenacity, uniform yarn structure, low hairiness and high yarn density. These features are ideal for high downstream efficiency. So when Sri Bhagirath started making plans to modernize his factory, it was clear that the company would once again opt for compact spinning. The K 47 combined with the Autoconer X6 was the best choice for the company.

Naveen Rander, director of Sri Bhagirath Textiles, says: “The high-quality automation with integrated monitoring systems guarantees both: operator independence and the highest quality of our compact yarns.” He also emphasizes the advantage of sourcing all machines from Rieter: “The fast machine installation, excellent technological support and tailor-made service give us performance advantages.”

High-quality compact yarns with energy-saving production

Equipped with the unique sieve drum compaction system, energy-efficient technology components and the single-channel extraction system, the K 47 produces high-quality compact yarns with significantly less energy for compaction compared to other solutions on the market. Monitoring systems, such as the air guidance element Detect and the integrated Individual Spindle Monitoring system ISM basic, monitor the running properties of each turning position. This guarantees the highest level of yarn quality and machine efficiency, while reducing operator workload. Thanks to the semi-electronic drawing system, the operator’s effort and time for parameterizing and adjusting the machine are reduced to a minimum.

Intelligent wrapping technology for high welding and packaging quality

The latest generation of Autoconer X6 wrapping machines is an important step towards intelligent and reliable automation. Sri Bhagirath is now much more independent of operator availability and reliability and can process high-quality compact yarns at a highly efficient and energy-saving level. The self-optimizing functions of the material flow (intelligent cops sharing), the high cycle speeds of the unique optical tube inspector and the efficient upper yarn gripping supported by the unique Smartjet are important advantages for virtually autonomous operation of the machines. Not to mention the integrated SPID online quality control system: it guides the operator to an abnormal turning position on the lathe to make corrections after the winding unit detects defective agents. This intelligent technology allows operators to concentrate on monitoring functions.

Benchmark in welding quality

With open prism technology, Sri Bhagirath can cover the entire yarn count range with just one prism (OZ1) with hardly any variations in welding parameters while achieving excellent weld quality for its compact yarns. The weld quality with an average weld strength of more than 95 percent meets the company’s high quality requirements and ensures high downstream efficiency.
