Fast X’s Louis Leterrier will direct sci-fi horror film

French filmmaker Louis Leterrier, who is best known for his work on action films like Transporter, The Incredible Hulk and Fast 11817.

“Directing projects where the audience gets behind the characters has always been my focus,” Letrier said in a statement. “No matter how complex, flawed and heroic, we identify with them as we go through their journey. That’s what excites me about the completely original concept of 11817 and the family at the heart of our story. This is an experience that movie audiences will not forget.”

Although this is his first time directing a horror project, Leterrier already has some experience with this type of genre, having previously joined the crew of 1997’s Alien Resurrection as an on-set production assistant. In addition to 11817, he is expected to return to the Fast & Furious franchise to direct the eleventh installment, which will debut in 2025.
