Browns’ D’Onta Foreman taken to hospital after blow to head

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. — Cleveland Browns running back D’Onta Foreman left practice Thursday morning in an ambulance after “suffering a direct blow to the head that resulted in neck strain,” the team said in a statement.

The injury occurred toward the end of the point period. Trainers placed Foreman, 28, on a backboard and he was carried off the court and then placed on a stretcher.

According to the Browns, Foreman can still move all of his limbs and is being flown by helicopter to a medical center in Roanoke, Virginia, for further evaluation.

The Browns have been training at The Greenbrier Resort in West Virginia since last Thursday. The team knelt and prayed for Foreman at the end of the workout.

Foreman, a third-round draft pick by the Houston Texans in 2017, signed a one-year contract with the Browns in March.

Last season, he rushed for 425 yards and scored five touchdowns (four rushing) for the Chicago Bears. He has rushed for 2,326 yards and scored 17 touchdowns (14 rushing) in six seasons.
