Redditor Spoiledandmistreated shared the beauty advice in a post.

They explained that most people don’t know what they have until it’s gone, including makeup.

After decades of trying cosmetics, their favorite trick is to stock up on your favorites.

“I am almost 70 and I will tell you this because I have been involved in cosmetics for many years,” they wrote.

“You can almost take this to the bank. When you find a makeup brand you like, whether it’s foundation, blush, eyeshadow or (or) mascara, it will eventually be discontinued.”

They explained that the cycle has repeated itself non-stop for them and that they have learned to deal with the disappointment.

“My whole life I’ve fallen in love with a product and then later, BAM, they don’t make it anymore,” they said.

“You start looking for something else that works. It doesn’t matter how good the product is and even if it’s high-end, sooner or later things will change.”

She warned beauty fans to stock up on items they can’t live without.

“I wish we had the foreknowledge to stock up on it before it’s gone,” she said.

“My sister is a makeup artist and she’s been doing that since the ’80s, and we still talk about the makeup we loved that’s now gone. It sucks.”

Fans agreed that her advice applied to almost any product.

“This goes for all our personal holy grails,” said one commenter.

“Blue jeans that fit every curve? Gone. The most comfortable and supportive bra you’ve ever worn? Gone. Favorite moisturizer? Reformulated and now irritating. It’s the worst!”

Beauty fans mourned the loss of their favorite products and clothing items.

“I now regret my jeans. They have stopped selling this cut and my jeans are starting to get worn out,” said one.

“I would have gotten a few extra pairs if I had known or thought about it.”

OP explained that they spent quite a bit of time looking for dupes, especially their perfume favorites that were no longer made.

“I have searched and searched for dupes as I make my own body products and buy a lot of dupes and make the whole line of soaps, shower gels, lotions, body sprays and perfumes,” they wrote.

Unfortunately, they never managed to find a dupe for one of their favorites, Gio by Giorgio Armani.

“Never found a Gio dupe. They make (Acqua Di Gio) but not Gio. I save a lot of money doing it myself as I have Gucci dupes, Chanel, Jimmy Choo, (Yves Saint Laurent), Kenneth Cole, etc. Buy,” they explained.
