Tonight scattered showers and thunderstorms, autumnal weather on Thursday

After seeing our 57th day of 90+ degree heat in Denver on Tuesday, cooler weather has arrived with the passage of a cold front. The front will bring a brief break from the 90s, as highs remain in the 80s on Wednesday and the 70s on Thursday.

Tonight and Thursday morning, scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected, with 0.25 to 0.50 inches of welcome rain possible. Mountain tops above 13,000 feet may even get a little snow tonight!

There will be some persistent showers on Thursday morning, after which it will gradually clear up in the afternoon/early evening.

Friday will see another warm-up, just in time for the weekend, as highs return to the mid-to-high 80s. Saturday and Sunday will see temperatures climb into the low 90s, and the summer heat will continue into early next week.
