This is how hot it got in more than 30 cities and towns in San Diego County on Wednesday – San Diego Union-Tribune

Temperatures soared across San Diego County on Wednesday, signaling the start of a dangerous heat wave, with near-record temperatures in many areas, especially east of Interstate 15, according to the National Weather Service.

The peak highs will be Thursday and Friday, but meteorologists now say Saturday will be only marginally cooler.

For the moment, Energy saving by the public has not been requested by the California Independent System Operator, which operates about 80 percent of the state’s power grid. But the situation is being closely monitored.

“The power grid is currently stable and the power supply is expected to be sufficient to meet demand,” said Anne Gonzales, spokesperson for CA-ISO. “There are no Flex Alerts planned at this time, but we are asking Californians to be prepared in the event we need to ask for voluntary conservation.”
