James B Hamersly, 71, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024, at his home in rural Glenville. A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Friday, May 10, 2024 at Bayview Freeborn Funeral Home.

James B. Hamersly

James was born on October 18, 1952 to Winston and Marjory (Luett) Hamersly in Mason City, IA. After graduating high school, he joined the military for four years. After leaving the army, he worked as a truck driver for 16 years. He went back to maintenance training and began working as a maintenance man for Hormel until his retirement.

He married Peggy Anderson and together they had two beautiful children, Emily and James.

He is survived by his wife Peggy Hamersly, mother Marjory Hamersly, children Emily (Jesse) Boren and James (Roxy Larson) Hamersly, grandchildren Ayden and Ethan Boren, and sister Carla (Leland) Johnson, and his beloved dog Mya.

He is preceded in death by his father Winston Hamersly.
