Sophisticated thieves accused of bank and cash robberies in seven states rented Airbnbs in Oregon, the FBI say
A sophisticated group of thieves who robbed banks and ATMs across California spent time in Oregon renting out an Airbnb where federal agents found power tools, blowtorch equipment and the robbers’ construction vests and helmet disguises, according to a federal affidavit.
Investigators have tracked some of the suspected crew members the Airbnb in Welches, which according to the affidavit, had been rented from Oct. 16 to 22, but when FBI agents moved in on Oct. 19, the residents had “fled in haste.”
