Class 4A football program pulled out of playoffs due to AHSAA transfer violation
Fultondale has forfeited three games and was placed on probation for violating the AHSAA Transfer Rule.
The Wildcats will miss the Class 4A playoffs. The AHSAA announced this on Wednesday evening.
Fultondale forfeited region wins over Hamilton, Fayette County and Cordova, dropping its overall record to 3-6 and its Region 5 record to 2-5.
An AHSAA release stated that the Wildcats played ineligible players, who received refunds for the games they participated in while ineligible.
Fultondale’s losses move Fayette County into the playoffs from Region 5, along with Good Hope, Dora and Hamilton. The 2024 playoffs begin next week.
This past week, the AHSAA announced violations for Coosa Christian and Pike Liberal Arts.
