College Gameday goes to Baton Rouge. The performance announced LSU vs. Alabama as the destination for Week 11.
Gameday is no stranger to the LSU and Alabama game. This will be the show’s 13th appearance in the contest – with LSU and Alabama being paired with Penn State and Ohio State for the show’s most common matchup.
The choice is logical. The game is the only one on the Week 11 slate to feature two top-15 teams. The only other ranked vs. ranked game is Georgia at Ole Miss, but it’s LSU that gets the primetime slot on ABC.
This will be LSU’s second College Gameday appearance of 2024. The Tigers were featured earlier this year when Gameday was in Columbia for LSU’s win over South Carolina.
Gameday makes its first trip to LSU since Oct. 12, 2019, when Joe Burrow led LSU to a win over Florida. Overall, this will be LSU’s 36th appearance at the show and its 14th time hosting the show in Baton Rouge.
Nick Saban’s presence on Gameday will bring a new flavor to the show as it returns to its old stomping grounds. Fans can also expect Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit to appear on the call for ABC.
