ESPN’s ‘College GameDay’ guest selector revealed for Penn State-Ohio State
No, it’s not a Horseman with bows. It’s not Cael Sanderson or Trace McSorley. But the “College GameDay” guest selector for Penn State-Ohio State will be a familiar face.
Keegan-Michael Key, an actor, comedian and Penn State alumnus, returns to Happy Valley and ESPN’s “College GameDay” desk this weekend as the show’s guest selector.
Key has appeared on “College GameDay” several times. Notably, he was the guest selector prior to Penn State’s 2016 Big Ten championship victory over Wisconsin.
Key is best known for his popular comedy show ‘Key and Peele’ on Comedy Central. He has also appeared in numerous other films and shows over the past twenty years.
Key is known in Happy Valley as James Franklin’s lookalike. Key was the guest coach for the 2018 Blue and White game. He also surprised the team in 2015 by posing as Franklin at a meeting the same week Key was the grand marshal of Homecoming weekend.
Some thought ESPN could have been more creative with its pick since Key is a replay picker. We had a few thoughts on who would have been fun choices, including Olympic gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik, Sanderson, McSorley and even Chewbacca.
“College GameDay” will take place Saturday outside the Bryce Jordan Center, adjacent to Beaver Stadium. Fans attending the show can enter the pit area at 6:30 AM
