What you need to know
The Wolverines snapped a two-game losing streak by beating Michigan State 24-17 last week in their cleanest performance of the season, at least offensively. They finished with just 265 yards but didn’t turn the ball over and scored four times over a five-drive stretch to take control after a slow start.
But the Ducks are a different animal, ranking in the top 12 in points and yards allowed and boasting one of the most explosive offenses in the country. Quarterback Dillon Gabriel is firmly in the discussion for the Heisman Trophy and he has four pass catchers with more than 300 receiving yards: Tez Johnson (638), Evan Stewart (446), Terrance Ferguson (321) and Traeshon Holden (313).
These two programs haven’t met since 2007: a 39-7 win at Oregon. Michigan is 3-2 all-time against the Ducks, with all three wins coming before 1975.
