The Cardinals win over Bears was full of firsts
The Arizona Cardinals defeated the Chicago Bears 29-9 on Sunday at State Farm Stadium behind 213 rushing yards and three touchdowns on offense and six sacks on defense.
There were a few firsts during the competition.
Rookie running back Trey Benson scored his first NFL touchdown.
Here’s the play:
Rookie linebacker Xavier Thomas had his first career sack, splitting a half-sack with LJ Collier. He would later have his first career full bag.
Collier’s half-sack was the first in his time with the Cardinals.
Zaven Collins had two sacks in the game, but they were two half sacks and one full sack. It was the first time in his career that he was part of three sacks in a game.
It was Trey McBride’s first career rushing touchdown.
It was the first time under head coach Jonathan Gannon that the Cardinals have been above .500.
It was the first time this season that the Bears allowed more than 21 points in a game.
Yes, there were many firsts. But in the end, the win was the most important thing.
