After the unprecedented boxing match between the legendary Mike Tyson and YouTuber Jake Paul, Indian professional boxer Vijender Singh Floyd Mayweather Jr. challenged for a similar confrontation in India.
โLet’s have a fight with Floyd Mayweather in INDIA,โ Singh, a 2008 Olympic bronze medalist, said in a social media post tagging the undefeated Mayweather.

Vijender Singh’s professional boxing career
Singh, who hails from Bhiwani, Haryana, has said in the past that he was inspired by the likes of Mike Tyson and Muhammad Ali to take up boxing as a career.

The 39-year-old, who turned pro in 2015, won his first six bouts via TKO. In his seventh professional fight, Singh defeated Australia’s Kerry Hope for the WBO Asia Pacific Super Middleweight title on July 7, 2016.
As a professional, Singh has competed in 14 boxing matches in the middleweight category, coming out on the winning side 13 times. His only defeat as a professional came against Artysh Lopsan of Russia in Goa in March 2021, via TKO.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. retired undefeated
Mayweather, on the other hand, has a 50-match undefeated streak. The 47-year-old, who competed from super featherweight to light middleweight during his career, retired from boxing in 2017.
Mayweather, who has since made the transition to boxing promoter, is no stranger to the just-concluded Mike Tyson and Jake Paul-style exhibition bouts.
Mayweather vs. Pacquiao
In fact, Mayweather was part of two of the most famous boxing matches ever: the ‘Fight of the Century’ or the ‘Battle for Greatness’ in 2015, when he took on Filipino legend Manny Pacquiao.

Mayweather was also part of perhaps the biggest crossover match in boxing history when he took on MMA legend Conor McGregor.

Mayweather faced McGregor on August 26, 2017 at the T-Mobile Arena in Nevada. Mayweather emerged victorious in a 10th round TKO in the fight scheduled for twelve rounds.
