ABC Broadcast shows Brian Kelly playing LSU Wide Receiver Chris Hilton Jr
This season wasn’t exactly where Chris Hilton Jr. hoped for in the season. Throughout the offseason, Chris Hilton was a starter for the Tigers at wide receiver, but a foot injury quickly sidelined him, causing him to miss much of the season. Chris Hilton finally returned to the lineup for LSU against Texas A&M and made his season debut.
The Tigers wide receiver has struggled to get back into shape, especially on jump balls. Against Texas, A&M Hilton mistimed his jump on two plays that could have resulted in huge gains, and did the same on a play against Alabama.
The problem continued into this weekend’s match when Hilton misjudged a great ball from Garrett Nussmeier deep downfield. As Hilton left the field and came to the sideline, the ABC cameras followed Chris Hilton and we saw a very animated Brian Kelly absolutely Chris Hilton Jr.
Brian Kelly sideline outbursts have become a regular occurrence this season, with Shelton Sampson, Damian Ramos and Garrett Nussmeier all falling victim to Kelly’s wrath.
As Brian Kelly Chris Hilton Jr. called truly uncoachable, that sentence especially stands out this weekend. We saw Bradyn Swinson and Sage Ryan benched early in the game for “Failure to Meet Program Standards.” We don’t know what happened behind the scenes with Chris Hilton and the coaching staff, but add that players will be on the bench at the start of the game and there may be some problems in the locker room. We’re all waiting for Brian Kelly’s explanation of both situations in the Post Game, but for now we’ll have to wait and see if LSU turns this game around.
