Trump tried to become Bo Nickal’s UFC manager while still in office – ‘He would manage me for the fights’
Donald Trump is a big fan of Bo Nickal and regularly mentions him during interviews.
The undefeated middleweight expects the former (and future) president to be present at UFC 309: “Jones vs. Miocic” event on Saturday. (November 16, 2024) at Madison Square Garden in New York City, where Nickal will be tasked with taking on 185-pound veteran Paul Craig on the pay-per-view (PPV) main card.
Turns out Trump and Nickal go all the way back to his collegiate wrestling days.
“It started in 2019, I won Nationals and was invited to the White House,” Nickal told Uncrowned. “I told him I was going to fight, he asked me if I needed a manager and he would manage me for the fights. I thought, “I think you’re a little too busy.” So it kind of started there and after my second fight in the UFC he was in the crowd and invited me to come play golf with him in Bedminster, so I flew back to New Jersey that week, we golfed together, and he’s been finding me ever since a bit of fun. for whatever reason, I don’t know, and of course I loved hanging out with him. I loved spending time with him and learning and just talking about things. So we’ve hung out a lot since then.”
Maybe we need a welfare check on Colby Covington.
Nickal remains undefeated with a 6-0 record, with all six wins ending via knockout or submission – five coming within the first frame. That said, the promotion doesn’t appear to be in a huge rush to rush the former NCAA Division-1 National Champion from Penn State into the Top 10 competition – which is fine with Nickal.
