Ravens vs. Steelers: Second half open wire
Those expecting a relatively high-scoring matchup in this Ravens-Steelers showdown were likely sorely disappointed, with another tough, gritty, low-scoring matchup appearing to be what’s on the menu for now.
How are you feeling about the first half, Steelers Nation? If you’re Mike Tomlin, what do you preach at halftime?
The good news? Steelers are ahead, 9-7, and they have contained the league’s most punishing offense, with two turnovers to limit their scoring despite some ability to move the ball. They also largely included Ravens QB Lamar Jackson as a runner. Justin Tucker also missed two field goal attempts to limit their overall scoring. Through two quarters, it still seems like anyone’s ball game.
On the other hand, there have been plenty of emotions that seem to call the discipline into question, as RT Broderick Jones was particularly heated and earned his first disqualification penalty.
Overall, it was a brutal first half for the Steelers’ offense and especially for Russell Wilson, who has been under duress for most of the day and doesn’t seem to be doing himself any favors. It’s AFC North ball, baby!
