5. Los Angeles Chargers (6-3)

Buffalo came within striking distance of the Chiefs with their late afternoon home win.

Kansas City is still No. 1 after Week 11, but it needs to be perfect, or close to it, for the remainder of the regular season to avoid being tied with the Bills.

Buffalo just has to keep pace with the Chiefs after the Week 12 farewell game and hope one of Kansas City’s opponents pulls off an upset to gain home field advantage.

The Pittsburgh Steelers were the biggest winners in the AFC going into Sunday.

The Steelers defeated the Baltimore Ravens in their first divisional game of the season.

Pittsburgh now has a 1.5 game lead over the Ravens in the AFC North with the head-to-head tiebreaker in hand.

The Steelers will face the AFC North gauntlet over the next three weeks with two games against the Cleveland Browns and one against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Baltimore is still in good shape in the wild-card race because of the cushion between itself and the Denver Broncos and Indianapolis Colts.

Indianapolis moved to 5-6 with a win over the New York Jets. The Colts could use a Denver Broncos loss to the Atlanta Falcons to level the two teams at 5-6 in Week 12.

The Bengals could jump into the wild-card mix with a win over the Chargers on Sunday night. The Bengals and Miami Dolphins are both on a four-game winning streak and could be on a run to claim the No. 7 seed.
